A computer mouse is a type of input device used with computers. The cursor on the screen can be moved by moving the mouse along a flat surface. By using the mouse buttons, you can move or choose items (called clicking). The mouse has two buttons, the left and right, with a scroll wheel in between. Many computer mice are wireless and do not have a connection. The primary purpose is to move the mouse cursor around the screen. The mouse pointer can be used to do a variety of tasks on the computer. When you click or double-click an icon, folder, or other item, it will open a document or launch a programme.
